How to do the common things, and how to reach us when something does not add up.

Quick guides

Getting started

The first time, Chuwe asks for your baby's name or nickname and what you want to track: breastfeeding, bottles, pumping, sleep. That is what builds your main screen.

Nothing you pick there is permanent. It can all be changed later in Settings, and changing it never deletes what you already logged.

Logging a session

On today's screen, the centre button opens the actions. Breastfeeding and sleep start a timer; bottles, pumping and diapers are saved with whatever details you pick.

The timer can be paused and resumed, and while nursing you can switch sides without losing the time already spent on the first one.

If you remembered afterwards, any session can be created and edited by hand from the history.

Quick sessions

A quick session is a shortcut for whatever you log most, for example “Formula 60 ml”. One tap saves it, with no form in between.

You set them up in Settings → Quick sessions. A bottle or diaper shortcut saves instantly; a nursing or sleep shortcut starts the timer straight away.

Backups

Settings → Data → Export writes a .json file with everything: settings, sessions, quick sessions, preferences and reminders.

To restore, use Import and pick that file. Chuwe validates it, shows a summary and asks you to confirm before replacing anything.

Your records live on the phone, so they are lost if you uninstall Chuwe or switch devices. Exporting now and then is the only safety net there is.

Language, units and formats

Settings → Language switches between Spanish and English instantly.

Settings → Formats controls the 12- or 24-hour clock and the decimal separator, dot or comma.

Settings → Feeding controls the unit, millilitres or ounces. Sessions you already logged keep the unit they were saved with.

All four settings are independent: changing one leaves the others alone.

Reminders

Chuwe can nudge you before the next feed, the next pumping session, or a backup of your data.

They are local notifications from the phone itself. If none arrive, check that Chuwe has notification permission in your system settings.

The next-feed reminder needs at least one feed logged: it is measured from the last one, not from nothing.

When something goes wrong

If an imported file is rejected, Chuwe says why: it may be incomplete, or come from a newer version of the app.

If the app behaves strangely, export a copy before anything else. Then write to us, and attach that file if you think the problem is in the data.
